It was the end of an era for Northern Rivers lawn bowlers today – the Ballina RSL Bowling Club ceasing operations.
Management says the decision was made, because the club could no longer trade profitably.
It says affected staff will be redeployed, and members offered the opportunity to join a club of their choice.
The greens will close on June 11.
