BUSHFIRE EMERGENCY – SEVERAL BLAZES ACROSS NSW

The Hunter and Central Coast are in the grip of a bushfire emergency that’s raging on several fronts… fanned by today’s strong winds and high temperatures.

Homes have been evacuated at Pretty Beach and Lobster beach near Gosford.

WYEE
Homes at Wyee in Lake Macquarie are also under threat tonight, after a blaze that ignited yesterday flared up again and jumped containment lines.

BELMONT Just north of Wyee, firefighters are monitoring a small bushfire at Belmont.

It’s been burning since early this morning in inaccessible bushland in the wetlands.

New South Wales Fire and Rescue says it has the blaze well under control, and it poses no threat to nearby homes.

SINGLETON
Crews are still battling a fierce bushfire which is burning out of control at Mirannie Mountain, near Singleton in the Hunter Valley.

A ‘watch and act’ order remains in place for residents, and more than 60 firefighters are working to contain the blaze, and protect around half a dozen properties.

The fire has burnt through 270 hectares.
