REHAB CENTRE RECEIVES HUGE FINANCIAL BOOST

North Coast drug rehabilitation service, The Buttery has been given a state government grant of more than $700,000 to expand its services.
The money will be rolled out over three years and enable the centre to deliver a methadone rehabilitation program.
“This funding today is about helping The Buttery establish a residential program that hopefully the clients who come here will be able to transition into a therapeutic community.”
More than 20 extra patients can now be treated onsite each year.
“The money will be used to provide seven beds to accommodate people who wish to come off methadone it will be incorporated into a current facility here at The Buttery and so it will mean we can employ extra staff who will assist them.”
