The touring British and Irish Lions rugby side is expected to make a special visit to Maitland when it arrives in the Hunter next week.
Players will pay their respects to the captain of the what’s thought to be the first Lions team to visit Australia, who drowned in the Hunter River more than a century ago.

The Lions touring party should stop in for a beer or two at marcellian park or at least for a boat race. While there should get a club/lions group photo it would be a great photo to have in the club.
