ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERED IN TOWER PLANS

Armidale Dumaresq Council says it’s pleased Telstra has committed to maintaining the environment surrounding its controversial telecommunications tower designated for North Hill, near Drummond Park.
As part of the project’s approval, the company will provide 2500 plantings to replace eight immature plants set to be removed to make way for the facility.
It’s also promised to extend funding for the area’s maintenance from one year to three.
The Armidale Tree Group will be given an estimated $40,000 to develop the area, with key stakeholders to have a say in landscaping plans.
