Firefighters were forced to close a section of Holden Road at Gosford last night, following a gas leak.
Crews arrived at around 8.30, and immediately hosed down the site with water to contain the gas.
Authorities arrived a short time later and rendered the area safe.
A broken joint in a 30-millimetre gas pipe is believed to have caused the leak.
