PORT COUNCIL SAYS DOCTOR NEEDED FOR WESTPAC

Port Stephens is the latest Hunter council to put pressure on the O’Farrell Government to fund a permanent medical team for the region’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
A state review back in January recommended the service get a doctor and paramedics, a move expected to cost $2-million.
The issue made headlines after it emerged Sydney rescue services were being used for some emergencies in the region.
