The Banana Coast Credit Union says security concerns have caused the closure of its branch at Coramba west of Coffs Harbour.
BCU has apologised for the inconvenience but says a risk assessment revealed the office does not meet modern banking requirements.
A spokesman says alternative buildings were explored, but there was nothing suitable.
Staff will be transferred elsewhere when the branch closes on Friday.
