WALKERS SIGN UP TO HELP RESCUE CHOPPER

For the first time, Coffs Coast residents can help raise money for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter by taking part in a charity walk.
Personnel from the service were on hand at the Jetty Markets this morning, signing people up for the inaugural event.
Although based in Lismore, the chopper flies regular missions to the Coffs Coast.
Helicopter crewman Tommy Lee Lewes said, “It’s a very important helicopter and it’s a big asset to the community and anyone who can get involved and help out would be amazing.”
Up to 300 people are expected to make the walk from Moonee Beach to Park Beach on Sunday the second of June.
