Tamworth’s Fire and Rescue rushed to a property in Sue Crescent at around 6.30 last night to find a bedroom alight.
The fire was contained in the rear bedroom, thanks to the quick-thinking of one resident who shut the door.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, however smoke damage has made the house temporarily unliveable for the six children and two adults who call it home.
Investigations are continuing however it’s believed a child may have been playing with a lighter when the fire started.
