PLANES TO LAND EASY AFTER PRUNING

Issues with overgrown vegetation at the northern end of Coffs Harbour airport could soon be nipped in the bud.
Coffs Harbour MP Andrew Fraser says the government-owned land can now be managed by council, thanks to an easement proposal.
“It gives them the management of the land it gives them the opportunity to clear the vegetation that needs to be cleared and ensure CASA doesn’t threaten to close down the airport as it has in the past.”
The Civil Aviation Authority feared aircraft would be unable to land, if the vegetation continued to grow.
