FEDERAL FUNDS BOOST MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

North Coast mental health service, Interrelate will receive a $1.5 million boost from the Federal Government to expand its Personal Helpers Program.
The money will allow the service to employ five extra staff to work one on one with patients in need of individual support.
“It can be hard to get services to sometimes stand up and say I need this, whereas if they’ve got that individualised support it can help them, help their carers help their family.”
The funding will cover programs in Ballina, Casino and Kyogle.
