Celebrations kicked off early this morning, with Southern Excellence 2 taking line honours in the Gosford to Lord Howe Island yacht race.
Far from the record of 33 hours – the boat crossed the finish line in 63 hours and 45 minutes.
But the long haul was all worth it, crew members toasting their achievement with some rum and coke.
Lake Macquarie’s Frantic sailed in 6 hours later – it could take out the premier handicap division.
