FLOODWATCH:EVACUATION ORDERS IN TAREE

Hundreds of people in the Taree area are being given evacuation orders amid concern the Manning River could peak at midnight.

The SES has been doorknocking people at Taree West, Taree North, Chatham, Browns Creek and
Dawson River Caravan Park. All up between 500 and 600 people could be affected. They’re being told to take three days worth of supplies and the SES hasn’t been able to give a timeframe on when they can return.

Evacuation centres have been established at Taree PCYC and Taree High School.
