A 37-year-old Tingha man was rushed to Tamworth hospital overnight after he was allegedly hit by a motor vehicle near Copeton Dam.
The Westpac rescue helicopter was called to the scene about 10.30pm, where the man was suffering broken legs and chest injuries.
A 52-year-old Inverell man who was driving the vehicle is assisting police with their enquiries.
