INNER CITY CHEMICAL EMERGENCY

16 people have been taken to hospital and 250 evacuated from an inner city building after a strong chemical was pumped through its air conditioning system this morning.

The ambulance service ferried patients in a mini bus to the John Hunter hospital after they experienced mild respiratory irritations from what’s thought to have been chlorine contamination in Newcastle’s Harbourpark building on Argyle Street.

The fire brigade traced the source of the spill to a plant room and are working to ventilate the seven level building.

  1. This is the sixth time this has happened in this building and not one manager has been held accountable, a complete disgrace.

Why hasn’t the RTA been forced to move to another building?

The office is a 1 million dollar a year waist of tax payers money and danager to 250 staff.

The RTA CEO has been stood down over the F3 incident, the RTA manager responsable for this building should be dismissed for failing to provide a safe workplace.

Who will take action workcover, the minister or noone again?

I bet this isn’t the last time this happens.
