Two young girls have been rescued from the Namoi River overnight after getting into difficulty while going for a swim.
At around 8 o’clock, police conducted a search of the riverbank on foot until they were able to locate the distressed 11 year-olds clinging to a log in the middle of the river.
Neither girl suffered any injuries during the incident.
