The Coffs Harbour Boardriders Club is having it’s first competition of the year this Sunday at Diggers Beach.
Officials are putting more emphasis this year on encouraging parents among their members to surf with their children.
“It basically follows the model that Surfing Australia and the government have got – initiatives for young kids and parent assist divisions where the parent goes out with them so it’s one on one,” Club Vice President Lee Winkler said.
Sign-on is at 6.30 am for all age groups including six year olds.
