Federal Member for Page, Janelle Saffin is calling for the Northern Rivers to be made an exclusion zone from coal seam gas mining.
She says Barry O’Farrell’s announcement, that a 2-kilometre exclusion zone will be enforced around residential properties, won’t affect the Northern Rivers.
Mrs Saffin wants local National Party MPs to stand up to the Premier.
“They need to be knocking harder on his door. Like I knock on the doors harder in Canberra, they should do the same in Sydney. It’s hard work but you’ve got to do it to protect your community”
