DETAILED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
for LARGE HAILSTONES and DAMAGING WIND
For people in parts of the
Maitland/Cessnock,
Central Coast and
Blue Mountains/Hawkesbury areas.
Issued at 3:00 pm Monday, 28 February 2011.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:00 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near the Putty Road north of Colo Heights and the Yengo National Park northwest of St Albans.
These thunderstorms are moving towards the northeast.
They are forecast to affect St Albans by 3:30 pm and Bucketty, Yarramalong and Mangrove Creek Dam by 4:00 pm.
Large hailstones and damaging winds are likely.
