You may have seen the emergency services helicopter hovering over Main Beach yesterday, but thankfully no one’s life was hanging in the balance.
It was an annual training exercise for the Emergency Management Queensland helicopter.
The team is honing its skills, fresh from carrying out multiple rescues during the recent floods in Bundaberg.
“You never really know, like the lows of the east coast that we just experienced recently when you gotta respond.”
