Fire investigators have spent today trying to determine the cause of a blaze that has gutted an elderly woman’s home at Mullumbimby.
The Rural Fire Service was called at around 1:30 yesterday afternoon after the 85 year old resident noticed smoke coming from an adjoining granny flat.
By the time crews arrived on scene the fire had taken over the entire house.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
