GUIDE DOGS WELCOMES SIX NEW GRADUATES

Guide Dogs New South Wales has welcomed its newest members, at a special graduation ceremony in Newcastle.

The six labradors – following 20 weeks of training – will soon be matched with a person who is vision impaired.

“It’s quite intensive. We start off in a mild area and we build the dogs up to the city. We went into Martin Place yesterday so it’s quite a busy environment for the dogs and they have to be able to handle something like that,” said Guide Dog trainer Taylor Bradshaw.

The celebration also featured some future guide dogs… the cute and playful puppies will spend time with families, before beginning their training.
