  1. If Aircraft noise is to be an issue upon 2 Lavis Lane Williamtown the “Multimillion dollar Development” which is located in the 25-30ANEF zone you would think that Port Stephens Council would not be intending to approve the Airport Hotel development within the next few days as was reported in this article.

Note The Airport Hotel/Tourist Facility site in at the Airport is located within the 40-45ANEF.Under Australian Standards AS2021-2000 and Port Stephens Council Aircraft Noise Planning Policy a Hotel / Tourist facility (providing primarily for tourist accommodation) is not permissible or acceptable located in any area above the 25-30 ANEF so making reference to the Multimillion Dollar site as having noise concerns is absolute rubbish.

Look up Port Stephens Council Aircraft Noise policy and you will see that Hotel/Tourist Facilities and restaurants are conditionally acceptable however anything in an ANEF above the 25-30 zone is unacceptable.

To confirm what i have just said you can verify the above by visiting Port Stephens Council website and reviewing their Aircraft Noise Policy and confirm what is and not acceptable types of development in specific ANEF zones as discussed above.

I owned the McDonalds site and i find it sad that McDonalds is the only other new Development that has been constructed in the area since 2002 really.Yes the Aero Space (DAREZ ) land has been rezoned 3 years ago and still no development.I plan to get this development built as soon as possible and believe that the development complements the area and has been needed in the area for a long time.

For tourist visiting the area and the dunes there is only two service stations to service visiting patrons, given the sites location and that it is the Gateway to the Hunter it is important that these types of services are made available to the public.

Lets hope things can get moving so that we can promote our area.

  2. I am all in favour of seeing this area developed in a responsible manner, and the sooner, the better

  3. What a great idea. This is exactly what this area needs. In my line of work I deal with management teams from all over the country and the world, whom fly in to Newcastle to bid on major construction works in the Newcastle and Hunter Region. Having a quality tourist facility in this location would serve these and many more visitors well. It is long overdue.

As for any potential noise issues? I am sure they are easily overcome. Furthermore, the additional jobs this would bring to the local area through the construction and operational phase would be welcomed by all I am sure.
