NEW ZEALAND TOURISTS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE

An early morning swim at Surfers Paradise, almost ended in tragedy for two New Zealand tourists.

Harrison and Hannah Crossan sparked a full scale rescue at around 4am, after they decided to go for a dip following a night of drinking.

“The young ladies were past the first line of breakers and were caught in a rip and being swept out as police arrived.”

Luckily, two passing police officers heard Hannah’s boyfriend’s yells for help, and dived into the surf.

“I don’t really remember much..I just remember waking up on the beach and having paramedics and police standing around me.”

Meanwhile, a search for a man feared missing at Kurrawa overnight has been called off.
