A specialist police unit is investigating a number of deliberately-lit fires in bushland near Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
Strike Force Tronto has discovered at least five separate ignition points which led to two large fires last night,
while this afternoon three New South Wales Fire and Rescue crews responded to yet another fire in the same area.
Police have called for anyone with information to contact Newcastle detectives.
