A controversial proposal for a bio-clinic health facility in the coastal village of Wallabi Point has been refused.
The multi-million dollar project included plans for a four-storey building with consultation rooms, 25-patient units and a recreation area.
Last night, Greater Taree councillors unanimously agreed on a council recommendation, rejecting the proposal on a number of grounds.
“It was not in the public interest and the asthetics and the visual impact of the building in that area – completely out of context with the area.”
