Re the story on traffic controllers on the pacific hwy. Did you bother to ask anyone on site why? Did you notice the concrete cutter being used? Do you know how loud these are? Who will warn him if an incident occurs? If you have ever been with one of these crews you would know about the abuse and rubbish thrown at these guys. What price safety is the question you should be asking not bagging for the sake of a cheap story. Try reporting something positive about about road workers, walk a mile in there shoes.
Shame on you NBN. I’ve seen what ignorant and distracted motorists can do on this stretch of road. Shame on you for now putting the workers in harms way by putting pressure on the contractor to reduce the number of “lollypop men” who are there to protect the workers. disgraceful…
Man it must have been a quiet news day for you to come up with that garbage. You can’t even get the most basic facts straight – those guys are being paid 100% by a private contractor and the taxpayer is not paying one cent extra for having either one or twenty traffic controllers out there. Each of them is looking after an individual worker’s safety because safety is number one in the construction industry. I also loved the bit where you ask completely uninformed people on the street what their opinion is. How bout you ask someone in the industry who knows the rules and regulations. Disgraceful cheap shot at an easy target. Do your profession some justice and least do a scrap of investiagtion before you put this nonsense to air.
