Former Bronco Dan Gagai won’t be heading north with Wayne Bennett with the Knights announcing the centre will honour his contract until the end of 2015.
22 year-old Gagai had been linked to a return to Brisbane, the club that sacked him for discipline breaches.
“This story about Dane wanting to leave is incorrect and is driven solely by the media,” Bennett said.
“Dane is happy at the Knights and will be playing here next season.”
“It is disappointing for the club, for Dane and for the supporters and, hopefully, this sets the record straight.”
