COUNCIL RANGERS TO CRACKDOWN OVER SPLENDOUR

Splendour in the Grass revellers are being warned they will be fined if they’re caught camping, parking or drinking alcohol in restricted zones.

Byron council rangers will be working around the clock over the weekend, on the hunt for anyone in breach of local laws.

“What we are trying to do is just ensure everyone has a good and safe time and that residents are able to enjoy their lifestyles.”

Council has installed new signage, which prohibits street camping at various locations across the shire.

Police will also be out in force with 150 extra officers recruited to keep an eye on the crowds.
