Preparations are well underway for next year’s Centenary of Rail in Taree celebration, with the event’s main attraction on track to be ready.
The ‘3-2-3-7’ steam engine, which is undergoing repairs for a mechanical problem, will headline the day of festivities.
Hundreds from the rail fraternity and the local community are expected to join the celebration.
“we’ve got a steam engine coming up and there’ll be a renactment ceremony at Wingham and another one at Taree.”
The event will be held next May.
