CONTAMINATED URUNGA ANTIMONY SITE TO BE REMEDIATED

Urunga residents are invited to attend a public meeting on the progress of remediation works on its Antimony Processing site.
The ‘Soil Conservation Service’ has been investigating the wetland, generating remediation ideas for the contaminated water, which runs into Urunga’s lagoon.
The site was used to store and process highly toxic ore from Dorrigo’s Antimony Mine in the 1980’s.
The meeting will be held next Tuesday, at Urunga Golf Club.
