HEAT CREATES WINDOW OF OPORTUNITY FOR THIEVES

Lower Hunter residents are being urged to be vigilant and reassess their home security.
Police claim thieves are becoming more brazen – stealing anything of value because many people are leaving their houses and cars unlocked.
In the Central Hunter Command, which includes Maitland and Cessnock, more than 90 break and enters were recorded last month… that’s up 24 on the previous month.
The warmer weather is partly to blame, providing thieves with a window of opportunity.
