Snake season is well and truly here, and residents on the north coast are being urged to be vigilant.
Local snake catcher George Ellis has already removed dozens of the slithering reptiles from across Byron Shire.
He says so far, it’s one of the worst snake seasons he’s ever seen.
“They have to be aware that the snake doesn’t want to eat them, doesn’t want to fight with them so long as you leave it alone it leaves them alone, simple as that”
