The life and music of a former star of the Blues on Broadbeach Festival, will be celebrated this weekend.
Wiley Reed passed away earlier this month, following a nasty fall after a gig in Brisbane.
The 68-year-old soul singer was born in Florida, but spent the last 20-years building a profile on the Gold Coast.
“Whoevers in the room, he would make them feel like he was performing for them. The repertoire he had was amazing – hundreds of songs and he really kept us on our toes too cause he would pull out anything to suit whoever was in the room.”
Band-mates are hosting the ‘Wiley Reed Family Support Show’ at East nightclub on Sunday afternoon.
The benefit starts at two o’clock, entry’s by donation.
