Gold Coast City Council and more than 500 Hinterland residents have lost a two year battle against a planned mosque at Worongary.
This morning, the planning and environment court gave it the green light.
However there are strict conditions including no weddings, funerals or loud speakers on the site.
The Islamic Multicultural Association of the Gold Coast took the council to court after it rejected the mosque’s development application almost two years ago.
