Lismore City Council has fined a man $1,500, for dumping asbestos in a Goonellabah park.
Twelve sheets of fencing containing the harmful material were discovered by a family walking their dog at Kadina Park just over a month ago.
Council is reminding the community that asbestos can be disposed of legally and cheaply at the Wyrallah Road Waste Facility.
