WOMAN TRAPPED FOR ONE HOUR, FOLLOWING HIGHWAY CRASH SOUTH OF TAREE

A 62-year-old woman was trapped in her car for around an hour this morning, after it flipped while towing a caravan on the Pacific Highway, south of Taree.

“The male driver, he’s been taken from the vehicle, he’s managed to get himself from the vehicle, he’s been taken away to hospital for initial treatment and assessment.”

North-bound traffic was banked up for 6-kilometres for most of the afternoon.

Police say rain was not a factor.
