FEARS ABOUT HOMELESS SHELTER AT TWEED HEADS

A group of Tweed residents say they fear for their wellbeing, with a homeless respite centre proposed for their street.

Social groups however say the town is in desperate need of one, with the Tweed having one of the highest homeless rates in the state.

  1. Many of the councillors are new and have not visited the street – let alone talked to the residents affected. They should understand that their job is to represent the views of those people and vote accordingly for them – and not for the recommendations of council staff employed in the planning department.which could disturb a quiet residential street.
