A man will spend almost three years in prison, at least, for going on a violent axe rampage at Lake Macquarie in May 2018.
Ben Leon Macaulay was today sentenced to a minimum two-years and nine months jail over the terrifying incident at Rathmines, in which he attacked a 74-year-old man.
With time already served, 45-year-old Macaulay could be released on parole in February next year.
