A new $100 million hospital at Byron Bay is a step closer, with a committee giving the plans the green light
The 54 bed facility would be built off Ewingsdale road, close to the Pacific Highway, and would replace the existing Byron and Mullumbimby hospitals.
A community health centre at Ocean Shores is also in the pipeline.
The project is now in the hands of the Northern New South Wales Local Health District board.
“The board meets at the end of August and if it endorses the plan we’ll then move on to a masterplan for developing the hospital.”
