BROMHEAD OPPOSES DEVIATION OF CORRIDOR

Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead says he’s “totally opposed” to the deviation of TransGrid’s preferred corridor.
It comes after the company yesterday announced its plans for the $100-million electricity upgrade between Stroud and Lansdowne.
Corridor one follows the existing transmission line until south of Bootawa, then heads north, crossing the Manning River east of Wingham, and ends south-east of Lansdowne.
Mr Bromhead believes the corridor should remain as it is, with the line travelling straight into Taree.
He says he’ll ask the state energy minister to review the project.
