Newcastle Police were recognised for their service today at a special ceremony at Fort Scratchley.
Retired sergeant, Stewart Jenkins, was awarded the National Police Service Medal, after 41 years in the force.
There were also civilian honours, with Ben Donaldson given a certificate of appreciation for bravely rescuing people in the 2007 floods, using his jet ski.
