Politicians rarely call for higher speed limits on our roads but the Federal Member for Cowper has done just that….
Luke Hartsuyker says the change in speed limit from 80 to 60 kilometres an hour on service roads on Coffs Harbour’s north side is completely unrealistic.
He’s receiving complaints that police often use the traffic radar on the roads involved.
“Many people are saying this is a very safe section of road, police resources are perhaps better allocated in other areas where the roads are more dangerous,” said Mr Hartsuyker.
He says he’ll be raising the speed limit issue with his state counterpart Andrew Fraser.
