Students from Merewether High are getting a real life lesson, in helping to provide food for people in need.
The hospitality students approached food organisation, OzHarvest, offering to cook several different soups to help meet winter demand.
OzHarvest collects otherwise unused food from 40 commercial kitchens and supermarkets, and delivers it to charities and refuges around Newcastle.
In just the past couple of years, it’s provided more than 700,000 meals – and can now add some tasty soups to the menu.
