The New South Wales Police Commissioner has joined more than 2,000 people, paying their respects to Newcastle’s own top cop.
Senior Constable Tony Tamplin may not have been the highest ranking officer, but he became the face and voice of policing for an entire region, and was a tireless community and charity worker.
His sudden death on Monday, today resulting in unprecedented scenes at City Hall.
