A vicious online campaign- protesting Currumbin’s proposed mosque- has led one Gold Coast Councillor to hire a lawyer.
Councillor Chris Robbins has been the victim of an online hate campaign for the past few months.
She says people have threatened to kill or attack her over Facebook.
They were posted on a page called ‘Stop the Mosque at Currumbin’ which has listed five councillors as ‘traitors’ and posted their mobile phone numbers online.
“At basis, this is an issue about thugs and bullies, it’s about people trying to influence an outcome, by using thugery and bullying and it’s against the law.”
