Byron Council has refused a proposal by takeaway giant, KFC to move into the town’s CBD.
At today’s meeting, councillors rejected the proponent’s development application on the grounds there is insufficient parking to support the outlet.
The proposed development sparked fierce community backlash.
During the consultation period, council received two submissions supporting the outlet and 347 against it.
