Tamworth’s Oxley Police are welcoming a new four-legged friend to help fight crime.
A specialised dog unit will be introduced next month- helping police perform general duties and crack down on drug detection.
“I can announce that on the 8th of November, Tamworth will have a dog and a handler back on the streets because we need to provide the resources that our police need to drive down crime,” says member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson.
The dog and it’s handler are now in training.
