ROY BELL GETS ONE WEEK SUSPENSION FOR CARELESS TACKLE

Northern United Captain Roy Bell will only have one week on the bench after his dangerous throw charge was downgraded overnight.

The Dirrawong was facing a two week suspension after getting sent off for upending a player in a tackle during their victory against Mullumbimby on Sunday.

But the team successfully challenged the charge at the NRRRL Judiciary overnight, which reduced it to a careless throw.

“From the club’s point of view we’re happy with it, and Roy’s point of view he’s happy too”

It means Bell will be able to represent the Northern Rivers in the Country Championship match against Canberra next month.
